VASCAN Annual Conference, October 7-8, 2021

Virginia Commonwealth University, Monroe Park Campus Richmond, Virginia

Hosted by VCU Technology Services’ Information Security

About VASCAN

The Virginia Alliance for Secure Computing and Networking (VASCAN) strengthens information technology security programs within the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The Alliance brings together Virginia higher education security practitioners who developed and maintain security programs widely emulated by other institutions and researchers who create cybersecurity instruction and research programs nationally recognized for excellence. VASCAN core is made up of security professionals from George Mason University, James Madison University, the University of Virginia, Virginia Tech, and the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), as well as researchers and staff from the Center for Security Information Systems at George Mason University, the Institute for Infrastructure and Information Assurance at James Madison University, and the joint George Mason/James Madison Critical Infrastructure Protection Project, however, our membership includes representatives from most, if not all, post-secondary education institutions/systems in Virginia.

Why Sponsor

VASCAN is the only security conference in Virginia specifically geared towards Higher Education security professionals. VASCAN’s membership and conference attendees include representatives from most public and private higher education institutions and the community college system in Virginia. At the VASCAN conference, public sector employees are often in attendance, along with our higher ed members.  We expect VASCAN 2021 to return to normal attendance levels and include a mix of technical staff, managers, and CISOs.
